“So, we meet again,” Cadeon said.
“You made a big mistake coming after my family,” he said.
Cadeon laughed. “You just made it too easy for me, George.” He started to laugh. “I guess you could thank your sister for me. I mean, she just had to keep Andrew at arm’s length. Sure, he was more than happy to play the nice boy. But to then lose Larissa as well.” He let out a whistle. “It was just too easy. I told the men to let him run away when we all started shooting. I had to wonder if you would doubt him.”
“That’s how you got the keys from him,” Big Dick said.
“He was more than happy to help out a fellow friend who had been shit on by the Ericksons. Not to mention, he had caught the way you looked at his girl, and as for Larissa, she wasn’t too happy with him running away. It was all too easy, and you didn’t suspect a thing. You thought Andrew was innocent, but he was more than happy to give me those keys. Afterward, he was more than happy to tell me about your little family and where they live. It also helped that you pissed off Wilcox, and it was like taking candy from a baby.”
Big Dick charged forward, and Cadeon hadn’t been expecting it. He was a fighter. He had grown up fighting, not just his brothers, but anyone that got in his way, and he put all of that into the battle with Cadeon right fucking now. He fought harder, landing blow after blow. Even as Cadeon tried to hit back, he was no match for him, and he didn’t let up. Not once.
The moment he got him to the floor, he punched Cadeon, and all he saw was Larissa on the ground, shot. His sister hooked up to machines. All of the problems that were caused by this one man, and he could just kill him now.
“Go ahead, kill me,” Cadeon said, and laughed.
Big Dick brought his fist back, ready to take that final blow. He would happily kill this fucker.
“She’ll be dead if you do.”
Those words made Big Dick hesitate.
“You don’t think I didn’t know you’d work it out?” Cadeon laughed. “I always make sure I have a Plan B, and your girl is going to see her father, but it is not her father she is going to find. It’s one of my men, and he’s been told he can do whatever he wants to her, and he has a penchant for ... pregnant women.”
Big Dick hated this fucker.
“What’s it going to be, my death and Larissa’s, or are you going to save her?” Cadeon asked.
“George,” Erick said. “You’ve got to get to her.”
Chapter Twenty-Three
Larissa pulled into the street toward the house she had shared with her father for a lifetime. She was so tired. She hadn’t heard from Big Dick, and most of the guys at the club had left to respond to a call from Brick. She didn’t quite get the details, but she knew it was important, and knowing Brick was with her husband, she didn’t want to keep them.
Getting a text from her dad was odd, especially as he asked to see her, but she didn’t question it. Her father randomly texted her. Their relationship was good. She had thought he was out of town on some conference, so his text had been a little confusing. He had told her he’d gone to the house, and no one had been home.
Pulling up outside of her father’s house, he pulled out her cell phone and checked to see if there had been a missed call, but there was none. She couldn’t stop thinking about Big Dick and his brother. She hoped and prayed Erick was okay.
Climbing out of the car, she put a hand on top of the hood to steady herself. It was then she realized she hadn’t eaten anything since last night. All the chaos and trying to help Big Dick’s family and be there for everyone, food had been the last thing on her mind, and it should have been the first thing.
She would go and grab something to eat. Making her way to her father’s house, she frowned as she noticed her father’s car wasn’t in the driveway. She pulled out her father’s keys from her pocket, let herself inside, and was again hesitant as there were no lights on inside.
“What is going on?” she asked and closed the door, flicking the lock in place. “Dad?”
She walked into the kitchen and went straight to the fridge, opening it and grabbing some ham and cheese. She was starving, and she took a bite.
There was no sign of her dad.
“Dad? Where are you?”
Just as she was about to step out of the kitchen, she felt her cell phone buzzing in her pocket, and she quickly pulled it out to see Raven was calling her. She frowned and answered the call.
