“No.” Micha seemed honestly startled by that question which didn’t make any sense at all. “I’m worried you’re going to be upset once you start worrying.”
That sentence hadn’t made any sense at all, but after a moment, I thought I’d sorted through it. “What am I supposed to start being upset over?”
Sometimes it took my brain a while to catch up to the panic, but nothing was coming to mind right off the bat. “Sawyer was okay with me being little.”
Ha.
Said it.
Wow.
Even admitting that out loud hadn’t startled Micha out of his funk.
“He knows I’m okay with the pup stuff. He didn’t seem to be jealous that I played with Cooper’s pup.” What else? “Um, no one was mean to us. The bartender didn’t try to make small talk with me when I had my quiet toy in.”
Pushing away how good my toy sounded at the moment, I couldn’t think of anything else I was supposed to be worried about.
“You’re going to have to fill in the blanks so I know what I haven’t realized yet.” God. I was starting to sound like Micha.
That must’ve been what startled him out of his weirdness because he barked out a laugh and actually pulled over into a gas station parking lot. When he had the car in park, he let out a deep breath and leaned over to kiss my head. “Okay. I will stop giving us problems we don’t have.”
That would be really helpful, but it was probably rude to say that so I kept my mouth shut.
I was occasionally smart.
It made Micha chuckle again and he shook his head before giving me a soft peck on the lips. “Our contracts say that we won’t play with other subs or Doms when we do scenes. It wasn’t until you were curled up asleep with Cooper’s pup that I realized we’d never thought about playtime like that before.”
Oh.
Interesting.
Chapter 26
Micha
“When you give me something to worry about you do a bang-up job.” Ashton sighed, closing his eyes and reaching for my hand. “Okay, first of all, I’m not going to feel guilty about anything I do in that little headspace. It’s fuzzier than just subspace, so unless I’m throwing shit at someone then I’m in the clear.”
His logic was always amazing.
“I’m going to need more examples of issues that could come up before I go with that level of immunity, but I understand where you’re coming from.” When he was little, he didn’t want to talk to people and he didn’t really notice what was going on around him. That combination meant we were bound to run into some interesting issues eventually.
But that didn’t mean I was going to give him a free pass no matter what he did.
We’d take it into consideration, but it left me wondering what else he’d been thinking. “What else came to mind?”
Because that hadn’t been where I’d thought he’d start.
Blaming me for letting him sleep with Sawyer’s partner was where I’d thought we’d begin his worries.
Had he not thought about it that way?
How had he thought about it?
“Um, my second thought was that I didn’t think it was a scene.” Frowning, he cocked his head and scrunched up his face before shrugging. “No. Not a scene.”
More fascinating logic was right around the corner. “Because?”
He threw up his free hand and finally turned to look at me. “Um, littles don’t do scenes they’re just little. Duh. Pups are the same way. They pup. I threw the ball. He fetched the ball. I gave him cookies. He humped his Master’s leg. That was not a scene. The bathroom was a scene. Stuff that seemed to be going on in the back of the building was definitely a scene.”
I managed not to laugh but it was close. Based on some of the sounds we’d heard, I thought I knew what it was and it hadn’t been his kind of scene. “There were demonstrations going on tonight, but you’re right, I think we’d count those as scenes.”
There’d been several reasons I’d known not to take him to the stage area on the other side of the club. Just because he hadn’t read the newsletter didn’t mean I hadn’t. Someone needed to make sure we stayed within his limits and that seemed to be my job.
“So we’re in agreement.” Ashton nodded like we’d made a good decision and charged off in another direction as his fingers absentmindedly stroked mine. “When you said something about wanting meat was that a dick joke or did you want a hamburger? I know you’d prefer steak but I don’t have the ability to sit down in a restaurant right now for a variety of reasons.”
He’d drive everyone bananas and then fall asleep in his chair.
“Agreed.” I wasn’t going to torture any of us like that. “Drive-thru alright with you?”
