“I’m glad you’ve accepted your fate as a prisoner,” Drako says, immediately needling Thor. “Your cocksmanship impressed the others. That, and being the mate of my mate will give you status on this ship. Even if your blond hair is far too pretty for a man.”
Thor picks up an apple, hefts it in his palm for a moment, then hurls it at Drako’s head. Drako catches it with a triumphant, ‘nobody can touch me’ kind of smirk.
“Are you going to get sassy with me?”
“I am going to beat the seven hells out of you,” Thor says. “And this entire ship of warriors won’t do a damn thing to save you.”
They’re both smiling as they violently threaten one another, and I know that the rest of my life will be just like this, listening to the rough play of two men whose love for each other comes second only to their love for me. I used to think it would be a big deal to find someone I could truly trust with my life. I found two of them. I never thought about how they must have felt the same way, how close they have bonded in the process of fighting to survive, and how relieved they no doubt are to know that they have each other.
I tell myself this as Drako tackles Thor onto the floor and they start cuffing one another.
“Oh, my gods, get a room,” I say, rolling my eyes.
Drako reaches out, grips my ankle and hauls me into the scrum. My laugh of delight alchemizes the whole interaction, turning their scuffling into snuggling. I am caught between them, wrapped up in two sets of arms, and protected by two strong bodies.
I am safe with my two Viking masters.
I am loved by my Viking masters.
And I am going to be owned by my Viking masters.
