Heat wrapped around Caroline, feeling like heaven. She blinked her eyes open and stared at the alarm clock. 8:32 a.m. How long had it been since she’d slept in?
Caroline smirked. Okay, she hadn’t slept very much last night. Did lovers like Wraith actually exist? Those who acted like you were the sexiest woman on earth?
She inhaled deeply. His male scent filled her senses. She’d never forget the aroma of hot, sexy man. Biker, she corrected herself.
Shifting slightly, she bit her lip to stifle a moan. Had she ever been sore after sex? Wraith had taken such tender care of her, but he was huge. And so good. She smirked.
“I’d love to hear what’s going on in that mind of yours, Precious.” His deep voice rumbled over her. That bass tone would replay in her fantasies for years to come. Why was she sure all her heroes from now on would have low voices?
A million dollars couldn’t convince her to share those thoughts. Caroline turned in his arms and pressed a light smooch to those amazing lips that had kissed nearly every inch of her body last night. “I had a really good time last night. You’re something special.”
“I enjoyed myself as well,” he told her with a smile before leaning forward to kiss her. The exchange caught fire quickly.
She pulled back reluctantly. “I don’t think I can take any more,” she whispered.
His slow, knowing wink made Caroline duck her head as her face heated. She suspected she was turning a vivid shade of red. Firm fingers lifted her chin.
When their gazes met, he said softly, “Best damn night ever. And I always want you to tell me how you really feel. Did I hurt you?”
“Never. It’s just….” her voice trailed off. How did she share he was twice the size Adam was?
“Take a warm bath, Little girl.”
His stern tone did something to her inside. He was such a Daddy. She wished this could be more. Now that she’d had a glimpse of what sex could be like, Caroline would compare everyone to her one night with Wraith. Sadness filled her. Life was so unfair. If only things could be different and Wraith would want to stick around.
“You haven’t figured it out yet, have you?” he asked slowly.
“Figured what out?” she wondered, confused.
“I’m not going anywhere. Do you have time for breakfast, Precious?”
She stared at him. Did he mean today? She decided to address the second question. “I can make pancakes.”
“I’ll make pancakes. Do you like puppies or kitties better?”
“Kitties?” she chose one, feeling clueless. What was he talking about?
“Go soak. I’ll make the bed and then go raid your kitchen. Kitten pancakes coming up.”
CHAPTER 5
Caroline glared at her computer and tried to see anything other than the adorable kitten pancakes Wraith had created for her. She still had a few carefully wrapped in plastic and stowed in her freezer. She’d saved them when he was busy loading her sink full of dirty dishes into the dishwasher along with their breakfast things.
He did dishes. Automatically. Like without her even asking. Who was this man?
He’d also made it crystal clear that they were now a thing, and he planned to see her often. According to Wraith, a Daddy didn’t walk away from a Little who enchanted them. She’d repeated that phrase to herself several times and even typed it into her document by mistake.
The kiss he’d given her on the way out the door had sizzled so much she’d had to squash the temptation to head back to the bedroom to use her vibrator—but that had felt like cheating on him. Caroline sensed he wouldn’t like that. She might have earned another spanking.
Crap! She was going to have to change her panties.
“Think of anything else,” she told herself sternly. “Write something.”
Putting her fingers on the keys, she started outlining a story. Using the research she’d gathered at the bar last night, Caroline created biker characters for her fictional club. She searched for tough names, and Google gave her some excellent suggestions. None seemed as sexy as Wraith, but she liked several. Those would do.
When she was straining her eyes to see, Caroline glanced away from her computer and discovered the room was full of shadows. She’d written the entire day. Stretching, she groaned. Her already sore body was now stiff from sitting in one spot for hours. Time to stop.
After carefully saving her document in three places, Caroline stood. She grabbed the insulated tumbler she had drained hours ago and headed to get something to eat with a satisfied smile. This book, hell, this series was going to be amazing.
Caroline poured herself a glass of tea from her refrigerator and grabbed her phone. She never took it into her office while she was writing. It was too distracting. Besides, no one other than scam artists called her, anyway.
