“Nooo…” Dragging it out, I shook my head when he tried aiming wide eyes at me again. “Nope. Bathtub first.”

I needed to get him out of that diaper before it fucked with his headspace.

He was still very focused on getting what he wanted, though, so he squeezed my hand and waddled us faster through the house and upstairs. Just rattling the bag occasionally was all it took to keep him focused and ignoring the full diaper between his legs.

I knew myself well enough to understand that I loved it because it showed just how much control he’d given me, but I did my best not to draw attention to it. If he wanted me to tell him how fucking adorable it was and how much my Dom side loved it, we could have that conversation when he was big and curious.

He’d eventually ask, but it seemed like we were going to push that off for a while.

At the moment, all his attention was on the tub and his bribe, so I kept our conversation steered in that direction. “Bubbles. I got strawberry ones with bunnies on it but they come in lots of scents, so we’ll have to pick out a few more.”

Something about that got a giggle from him but he nodded along enthusiastically as he dragged us into the bathroom. “You like that idea, huh, or is my shopping for it funny?”

He released my hand, bouncing around the bathroom as he giggled. “Yeah, I like shopping for my sweet boy.”

And he liked getting presents so it was perfect.

“I’m going to have fun picking out lots more bubbles and toys.” The mention of toys had his eyes going wide and he looked like a hunter in a cartoon. “What are you doing?”

Hunting.

As I turned on the water, he pretended to look behind the toilet and under the towels, he even frowned as he made a slow circle around me. “Nope. I don’t have them. But I can show you where they are.”

He could’ve found them too but that wasn’t the game, so I slowly lead him over to the sink and opened the middle cabinet that had always been empty.

It was no longer empty.

Ashton gave a happy bounce and dove for the goodies as he saw the basket full of zoo toys and a big bottle of bubble bath. His wiggle made me smile but his scrunched-up face had laughter spilling out again. “You’re right. Time to get naked.”

After looking at the toys…his incredulous face made that abundantly clear.

I managed not to laugh, but I did reach past him and grab the soap. “I’m silly. What was I thinking?”

The way he was shaking his head said he wasn’t sure I’d been thinking at all.

We were going to have to agree to disagree, but I decided to give him a few seconds to get over the initial rush of excitement before I dragged him away from the toys.

And his spoon.

Maybe?

He still had a tight grip on it and didn’t seem to think putting it down was necessary, but some of the animals seemed to be just as important.

“Can’t we put the elephant down for just a second?” I thought it was a reasonable request but he glared at me and pressed his mitt to his chest as he scrambled to stand up. “You’ll be able to play with it better once you’re in the tub.”

There was no way to take the mitts in the water, so I was going to have to give him access to his fingers. Unfortunately. I wasn’t going to lie. I liked how helpless he looked and he was adorable when he waved his hands and whined at me.

But they were not waterproof and he’d want to play with his new goodies.

Nope.

Hands went under his arms, toys and all.

His stormy face made me want to give him a kiss but that wasn’t the best idea at the moment.

“Who’s in charge here?” Keeping my voice low and stern, I managed a passably pissed-off expression that got a sigh from my cutie. I waited, raising one eyebrow until he huffed and stomped one foot. “Me. That’s right.”

He couldn’t seem to decide how to respond, but he kept sucking his binkie and looking at me like he was mentally cursing me.

“Give me your hands.” I needed to check on them at the very least. “Naughty boys don’t get rewards.”

His head turned and he looked at the bag I’d set on the counter.

And then there was another sigh.

Such a drama queen.

Two stomping steps brought him to me and he held out his hands like he was going to jail.

Taking his spoon and his elephant got an audible pained sound from him like he was being tortured. I’d somehow done this to myself, so I knew I had to be patient with him.
