“I’m glad. Because you make me ridiculous.” As he snickered, I stole another kiss. “You also take good care of me. How about you treat me to the drive-thru and get me two big burgers? I’ll treat you to chicken nuggets and a big fry.”
He gave me a teasing glare. “I’m not little.”
“You have the palate of a toddler no matter what headspace you’re in.” As he laughed and nodded, he snuggled close and rested his head on my shoulder. “You’re also snuggly when you’re big or little.”
“I’m snuggly now.” Yawning, he pressed his face against my neck, nuzzling and kissing me softly. “But I get my rewards tomorrow. I was really good. A good helper. A good player. A good…I was good.”
And not as big as he’d claimed to be.
“Deal.” Letting him relax against me, I slowly stroked his back and mentally debated if he’d last even five minutes before he fell asleep. “We’ll do rewards tomorrow and have a relaxing date somewhere.”
“The zoo.” His yawned-out answer was so ridiculous I couldn’t even roll my eyes. “That’s relaxing. I like the…I like the monkeys.”
If he made it out of bed before ten I’d consider it. “I like the zoo.”
But I wasn’t making any promises.
“You…you’d like the steak place…it’s fancy…Conner was fancy…I love you, Micha.”
I’d been wrong…he hadn’t even lasted a minute.
“I love you too, baby.” I loved everything about him. Every fantasy. Every fear he’d tried to hide. Every rambling explanation. Every declaration that he didn’t have to talk because it was in his contract. “Crazy logic and all.”
Because that was the best kind…it was in his contract too.

“No.” His logic was so overly linear and questionable it made me wonder what else he was confused about. “Then every time someone went to the doctor for…stuff…it’d be cheating.”
Naked penises being examined was not anywhere near the cheating definition.
“That’s not the same thing.” Micha rolled his eyes as we continued to have the whispered discussion as we walked through the zoo.
He’d tried to convince me that we needed to have it at home but I wasn’t going to admit he’d been right. He hadn’t been. He just wasn’t completely wrong because we had to keep whispering. Doing it as we walked around was a wonderful distraction, though.
I kept forgetting what we were talking about every time we got to a new animal.
“There’s naked-naked and professional-naked. They’re very different things.” Micha rolled his eyes as I shrugged.
“Then asking Conner to play doctor could be considered appropriate, and judging by your definition, that would be cheating.” His logic was still questionable even if I was able to replicate some of it.
“Because he’s not a real doctor.” Somehow Micha was able to whisper and make it sound frustrated at the same time.
“That wasn’t in your explanation.” Goodness gracious. “You’re very worked up about this for someone who’s had open relationships in the past.”
Judging by our dating histories, I was pretty sure I was the one who was supposed to be paranoid over cheating. I’d only dated one person at a time, and some of them had been spectacularly disastrous, so it made me wonder if his more flexible background had been the better choice.
Not that I was going to explain that…in his current mood he’d somehow end up thinking I wanted to break up or cheat.
“But you haven’t.” His arms jerked like he wanted to throw up his hands, but he couldn’t because he didn’t want people thinking we were arguing. Because we weren’t. We were just defining things passionately.
Because he was still confused.
“So?” Using my boring background against me should be cheating too. “Okay. Let’s not worry about strict definitions.”
That wasn’t helping in the slightest and I wasn’t sure we’d ever get to that point.
“What’s another way we can do this? There’s always another way.” Oh, more monkeys. “Next time we need to bring my spoons.”
There had to be a way to make carrying them around look normal and boring…but I’d let Micha figure out how to make that work.
“We could—” He paused, glaring at me again. “Stop distracting me.”
No…that would not be a reasonable promise.
“You’re not the jealous type anyway. So I don’t understand why you’re so worried about this.” He was acting insane for someone who didn’t get jealous.
His groan said I was missing something about that, though. “You do.”
“So don’t feed anyone else a bottle and we’ll be fine.” It wasn’t rocket science.
Yes. It wasn’t rocket science, so we just needed to look at it from an easier perspective.
“Story time me.” Swinging his hand, I tried to stay big but it was hard. I was ready for animal nuggets and lots more monkeys. Maybe if I wasn’t too big of a pain in the ass Micha would let us do the monkey parts over and over. “Play what-if and then I’ll tell you if it’s cheating or not.”
